Marketing Tips for You and Your Logo
Here are some graphical and marketing tips for your logo: Make sure the logo ‘pops’ off of the page: Make sure your logo is bold and memorable. Ensure that the design makes sense for the business…and test it out with existing clients for their feedback. What you think works might not resonate with your client base. Keep it Simple: A logo’s design should be simple and clean. You do not want to confuse the target audience with a blurred message. A confusing logo is forgettable and useless. Sometimes less is more! Make the Logo flexible: A logo must work well in multiple formats. It has to show well online, on paper (ie business cards and letterhead), and on promotional products. Legibility is important, and a logo should look good both in its designed colors, and in black and white. Help your logo make a statement: Many logos also include a tagline, which is a statement of the products or services that you provide. It also helps separate you from your competition. Your tagline should also be short, and to the point. Do some research just to be safe: While your logo may be a positive message to you, it may stand for something entirely different in other cultures. Research your logo to be sure that it does not convey any negative message. Also, be sure that other organizations are not using the same, or similar logo design. Promote Your Logo! Once you have a logo as your corporate identity…use it…everywhere! Your logo should appear on ALL of your marketing materials including business cards, letterhead and envelopes. Include your logo on your website, add it to your email signature, and even on fax cover sheets. Any and all business communications should include your logo. You should strive to make your logo synonymous with your company name. Keep consistent: A logo is something that should not be changed regularly. It takes a lot of time and effort to create a logo, and image. It takes an even longer time for your clients and prospects to remember the logo, and associate it with you. Changing and altering a logo will confuse your target audience, and cause more harm than good.
